For months I’ve been hearing about author Elizabeth Gilbert’s TED talk on nurturing creativity. Everybody, it seemed, loved it. That was enough to keep me from watching. It was fabulous. She was fabulous. I’m not. Oh well. What else is new?
That’s almost, but not quite true. I also thought it would probably be what I call happy talk. Something inspiring, uplifting, and, in the process, somehow flattening the meaning of creativity. That may not make sense to you, but it was how I felt.
And today I got over myself long enough to watch this video. And I want you to see it, too. And as you watch, I would like you to consider that your work in the world, your business–whatever it is, is the subject she is speaking of.
And may I say, as she will, “Ole!” to you for everyday that you do your part in the mysterious act of creation.
